Wood gasifying boilers

We have sourced a new supplier of wood gasifying boilers. These environmentally friendly wood-fired boilers with a heat output capacity from 18 to 80 kW. MAGA MA hot-water boilers are intended for heating homes (such as apartments, family houses, suites, townhouses) and smaller industrial buildings (manufacturing shop floors).

Wood gasification boilersThese boilers are designed exclusively to burn wood. Any dry wood such as chopped logs or wood chips with maximum length of 500 mm can be used as fuel for this type of boiler. It is also possible to use damp wood, however one has to count on a little extra fuel consumption.

Untreated wood waste such as sawdust, splinters or small chips may also be used, but this type of fuel should at all times be combined with whole wood pieces. Logs with larger diameters can be used as well. If so done, the boiler’s rated output capacity will decrease and the period of burning will extend.

A large wood storage bin will help replace and eliminate the most laborious operations associated with the preparation of wood fuel – i.e. the sawing and cutting of logs into pieces of an appropriate size. This practice will save not only physical exertion, but also time necessary for the work. Approximately 1-2 % of the amount of the wood burnt in a boiler will be deposited in the form of ash into the ash disposal area (which should therefore be cleaned once or twice a week). Taking into account the low emission of harmful substances, the operation of this type of boilers contributes to improving the environment.

The Maga MA wood gasifying boiler

The boiler provides fuel pre-drying with subsequent gasification at a high temperature. Both the primary and the secondary air flows are preheated and then distributed in a desired, ideal proportion to the boiler’s firebox and to the nozzle.

The primary combustion air is driven in to the combustion chamber through the space beneath the upper door. An even distribution of the preheated primary air ensures that only smaller amounts of fuel are gasified. Therefore, the boiler is highly economic and has a high heating coefficient of performance - as much as 89 % throughout the output capacity range. This design enables a more efficient gasification of wood chips and wood waste.

The secondary air that is driven into the gasification nozzle is preheated to a high temperature. This method prevents the flame from being chilled and therefore, any combustible substances are burnt to their maximum potential. The lower combustion chamber is equipped with fireproof concrete blocks where the process of burning is completed and any particles that fall down to this space are completely burnt.

The ash deposits resulting from this process can be used as be used as high-quality cropland fertilizer in your garden. A cooling heat exchanger is placed in the boiler to protect it from overheating under blackout conditions. Should the boiler be overheated, a special safety valve opens to admit tap water into the heat exchanger. The water, after having captured the excess heat, is then discharged into the drain. Heat Exchange Tubes feature turbulators (or retarders) for maximum heat exchange efficiency.

Advantages of wood gasification boilers

  • Possible use of large pieces of wood
  • Both primary and secondary air is preheated to a relatively high temperature – higher heating coefficient of performance
  • After all fuel is burnt, the fan will automatically turn off
  • Easy & simple operation and maintenance, cleaning
  • The combustion chamber (firebox) is fitted with ceramic blocks - high coefficient of performance
  • Large solid fuel hopper - a long time of burning
  • Large ashtray
  • The boiler is equipped with a pipe wall – provides easier way of cleaning
  • High quality build
  • High heating coefficient of performance
  • A low fuel consumption
  • Easy, convenient and very comfortable operation (fuel is only necessary to be fed 2 or 3 times in 24 hours)
